Here we answer frequently asked questions about the BeautyWrap and how
it differs from other body wraps.
How will I look after a wrap?
Results of looking 6-20 inches slimmer are typical after your first wrap;
with an average of 12-15 inches. Your percentage of body fat will
influence the degree of your results, with body types having
over 30% body fat (20% for men) achieving the best results from this
process. The results you achieve
on all subsequent wraps should be fairly consistent with those of
your first wrap. You can check your percentage of body fat below.
How can I be sure I'm not just losing water?
The BeautyWrap is not a dehydrative wrap. Dehydrating
wraps create inch and weight loss (typically 1-2 lbs) primarily
through loss of water. We don't use saran wrap or plastic wrap materials of any kind in our
body sculpting process. Those materials cause loss through dehydration
or "sweating off" inches. These inches return immediately, as soon as
you rehydrate. We use porous bandages which permit the skin to breathe.
It's actually a cooling process. The slimming and tightening that occurs is a result of the minerals working, not water loss.
Will
I lose weight with a BeautyWrap?
A slimmer appearance, not pounds, is what the BeautyWrap is designed
for. Any weight you lose in the process is a bonus.
What does the BeautyWrap do for skin?
Skin appears smoother and tighter after even the first wrap. Clients may
typically appear to have had "something" done, when of course they have
not. It's not unusual to see the wrap take 5 or even 10 years off
someone's appearance. Many of our
clients see particularly dramatic results after weight loss
or pregnancy.
Are there any medical considerations?
There are no specific conditions listed as strict
contraindications for getting a wrap; however, common sense dictates. If
you are on medication or have any physical problems, you should first
consult your physician before getting a wrap. Anyone pregnant should also first consult their
physician.
Can it help a double-chin or round face?
Certainly! Part of the BeautyWrap process involves wrapping the face. The
same visual slimming process that helps your entire body also helps
these problem areas on your face. You can focus special attention just
on your face with the Beauty-Lift Facial.
How many wraps will I need?
It takes about 10 wraps to appear a dress size smaller. To maximize the
results, you should come in for a wrap once or twice a week, until your
objectives are met. From that point on, maintenance
wraps are recommended about once a month. For special occasions, such as
weddings, multiple wraps in a day, like the
Ultra-Trim wrap, will give you dramatic results in a single
visit.
What do I need to wear for a wrap?
Women are wrapped in bra and panties. This is all done in complete
privacy, of course. The bra and panties should be cotton, and the bra
should not have an underwire. Men wear swim trunks, but again these
should be cotton. The undergarments you’re wrapped in will be thoroughly
wet when done, so you should bring an extra pair to change into after
your wrap.
Are the wraps painful?
No. The wraps aren’t painful; however, some people do report feeling cool
or chilly during the 1 hour process.
Use of a poncho, wrap suit, or sauna during the wrap can help. We also apply warm solution 3-4 times during your wrap to
keep the saturated bandages from getting too cool.
Will I be able to rest during a wrap?
With the exception of the Dream BeautyWrap and Beauty-Lift Facial, we recommend that you stay up and active for the duration of the wrap.
Many salons will incorporate the use of a glider or power plate machine. This
is commonly called an "active wrap" and the non-strenuous movement helps increase circulation
and improves your results.
